General description of organisation
Suva is an independent, non-profit company under public law. In 1918, Suva opened its doors as the Swiss Accident Insurance Fund. Suva's business activities are based on the accident insurance law. It mainly insures companies in the secondary business sector, i.e. industrial trading an commercial enterprises.
Reason for membership with SSF
At Suva, we strongly believe that as a social insurance that was founded over 90 years ago we have a high responsibility to apply the same principles and ethical standards to asset management, too. This is why we signed the UN principles of responsible investments and are committed to incorporate ESG issues in our investment analysis and decision making process. We joined the SSF to promote the acceptance and implementation of the principles and other efforts to increase the awareness for ESG issues in the asset management industry.
