General description of organisation
We are Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), the asset management business of Legal & General Group. Our purpose is to create a better future through responsible investing. We strive to achieve this through a strong sense of partnership with our clients, working together to achieve positive long-term outcomes. We draw on industry-leading expertise to innovate constantly across public and private assets, index and active strategies. Reason for membership with SSF
Our Active Ownership activities apply across all the assets we manage, and additionally we incorporate responsible investing across our Active and Real Assets investment strategies and, as directed by customers, many of our Index strategies.
We target a broad range of ESG objectives, including:
• Striving to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner across all assets under management
• An interim target of 70% of eligible AUM to be managed in alignment with this net-zero ambition by 2030
• Net-zero carbon across our real estate portfolio by 2050
