Mirjam Staub-Bisang, Managing Director, is Head of BlackRock Switzerland and a member of the EMEA Executive Committee.  In addition, she serves on the board of the Swiss Sustainable Finance, the Swiss Asset Management Association and the global shoe retailer Bata. 

Prior to BlackRock, Mirjam served as chair of a Swiss multi-employer pension fund Profond and led Independent Capital Group Ltd, an investment management firm and multi-family office based in Zurich which she co-founded. Mirjam also served as a non-executive director on the boards of several public and private companies as well as chair and member of the investment committees of several institutional asset owners. Prior to these roles she held senior positions in asset management and private equity at Commerzbank, Swiss Life, Quadrant and advised corporate clients as an investment banker and lawyer at Merrill Lynch in London and Zurich.

 

Mirjam holds a PhD in Law from the University of Zurich, an MBA from INSEAD and is admitted to the Zurich bar as an attorney-at-law. Mirjam is recognized as a thought leader in sustainable investing. She authored the standard works „Sustainable Investing for Institutional Investors” (NZZ 2011), ”Sustainable Investing for Institutional Investors: Risks, Regulations, Strategies“ (Wiley 2012) and co-authored the second edition of “Infrastructure as an Asset Class” (Wiley 2016). She was nominated a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2009.
